Finding the Time to Live the Life of Your Dreams

Thanks to my friend Sam I just discovered this great little article by Anne Lamott, Time lost and found. It is a great read and just the sort of reminder that we all need to focus on what is really important in life. Everyone has hopes and dreams of a life well-lived, full of love and adventure. But, how much of your life is spent in idle - reading twitter feeds, surfing facebook and blogs, watching another mindless show on television, or even scrubbing your floors to spotless perfection?

Lamott suggests "Turn off Twitter. And don't clean the house. That's what it takes to create the rich life you deserve." Not cleaning house is certainly something that I can get behind, but it may take a bit more to curb my internet addiction. It's worth trying though.

Amazingly Beautiful

Imagine my excitement upon discovering this beautiful treasure in the mail. My friend sent me this nursing necklace that she made, and it is so gorgeous. I just love it so much. Mia nearly hyperventilated with excitement the first time she clutched it in her wee little hands. Never before had she been handed something so precious, and she was bursting with excitement and curiosity. I only wish that I had had a video camera running, so that I could share her reaction. Her excitement was just so funny and sweet.

The necklace is beautiful, truly, and full of whimsical detail. I love how it feels, and I love that it softly chimes as Mia plays with the beads. Of course, these pictures do not do it justice.

I am so grateful to have such a wonderful friend.

If you are interested in one for yourself, she will be adding some to her Etsy shop soon. She also makes some really fantastic Waldorf style dolls, and scarves.

I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet little one yesterday. He was so sweet and adorable. I can't get over what a sweet little guy he is. Of course, I also had lots of fun chatting with his awesome mama.

If you haven't already, you should definitely check out the Too Good To Be True blog. I have been so excited about the recipes that Sasa has posted (just three so far). Last night I made Wild Rice and Chicken Soup and it was so good! I made some fresh bread this morning to go with the leftovers, and I think it is better today than it was yesterday.

Tonight I will be making stir fry using his seasoning suggestions, with kale, broccoli, bok choy and mushrooms. Yum.
